Orbán declares war on the left

At the 1st General Assembly of ‘Patriots for Europe’, Santiago Abascal from the Spanish VOX was elected President and Kinga Gál from Fidesz was elected Vice-President of the party alliance. In Paris, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán emphasised the importance of patriotism and a strong Europe.

In his capacity as Fidesz leader, Orbán thanked RN leader Marine Le Pen for organising the Patriots General Assembly on Saturday afternoon

Hungary’s Prime Minister said that with the election victory and Donald Trump’s return to the White House, patriots were now in the majority in the Western world. The lesson to be learnt from the election campaign was that the left would do anything ‘to destroy us politically, morally and with the help of the judiciary’, Orbán warned.

For the simple reason that these circles ‘cannot bear the thought’ that they should relinquish power. ‘For these people, democracy only exists as long as they win.’ In order to prevent the patriots from advancing, the courts and legal norms are being abused, whether against Donald Trump and Matteo Salvini or Marine Le Pen and Herbert Kickl.

Orbán accused the left of having weakened America and Europe during their time in government. ‘The left is the obstacle to making America, Europe and Hungary great again.’ When the left claim to be ‘experts’, they are at best experts of an old world, whereas the patriots own the new world.
The Prime Minister recommended not to move towards the so-called ‘political centre’, because this centre is already moving towards the patriots. The best example, he said, was the issue of immigration, where Trump won with a message that could not be clearer. ‘He didn’t say 30 per cent, as the left claims, he said America must deport one hundred per cent of illegal immigrants. And lo and behold, the voters honoured that. We have to say clearly: No Gender, no War, no Migration!’

Orbán reiterated his optimistic assessment of the situation, according to which the Patriots will become the strongest parliamentary group by the end of the parliamentary term from their current third position. The chances are good, he said, but there are challenges to be overcome that are unknown in the left-wing camp.

‘The left doesn’t care about their homeland, they only care about their ideology.’ Patriots, who are closest to their own homeland, need to find common ground, such as rejecting illegal migration. ‘We don’t let anyone in and send the illegals away again. It’s as simple as that. We must defend our borders and show strength as Europe. Let’s make Europe great again!’
