Hungarian rescuers to reach flood-hit Libya by Monday
A Hungarian rescue team is on its way to Libya, where the city of Derna was inundated during a storm last Monday, the minister of foreign affairs and trade said.
“We are in constant contact with the authorities who are in dire need of rescue teams, as only few foreign teams have made it to the almost inaccessible area,” Peter Szijjarto said on Facebook.
The team will also provide medical aid, he added.
The government’s Hungary Helps programme is providing support worth 14 million forints (EUR 36,500), Szijjarto added.
