Fidesz MEP: EP resolution ‘pro-war manifesto’
The European Parliament resolution adopted last week "is a pro-war manifesto urging us to deliver fighter jets and long-range missile systems to Ukraine", Fidesz MEP Balazs Hidveghi said on Tuesday.
All that is left now that tanks, fighter jets and missiles have been pledged to Ukraine is the deployment of soldiers, which would be tantamount to sparking a world war, Hidveghi said in a video statement.
“The Western world is mired in collective pro-war psychosis, just like in 1914 at the outbreak of the first world war,” he said. “We’re on the edge of an abyss, and most Brussels politicians are marching forward blindly,” he added, adding that Hungary “must stay out of this war in all events”.
All effort must be directed towards a ceasefire and a peace agreement, yet Brussels “has imposed sanctions on us”, and Europeans are paying the price, the Fidesz politician said.
