Aniko Raisz told the press that the Azeri capital Baku will host a UN climate change conference COP 29 later this year and consultations with EU environment ministers are being started as soon as possible in order to aid the success of the conference.

Competitiveness is one of the main topics of the Hungarian EU presidency, which is important also in terms of environmental protection, the circular economy and sustainability, she said. A more successful green transition can be implemented if competitiveness is included among priorities for this area, too, she added.

The vice-president of the European Investment Bank (EIB) will present to the ministers’ meeting financing possibilities offered to member countries and their companies in the areas of climate change, environmental protection and sustainability, Raisz said.
