EP adopts amendments to mandate training MEPs to prevent workplace harrassment
The amendment, adopted with 473 votes in favour, 89 against and 53 abstentions, also aims to promote good office management through a 5-module training.
The MEPs of ruling Fidesz said in a statement that their delegation rejected “gender mania”, and the new “blackmailing attempt by leftist parliamentary groups”.
The MEPs said the Brussels elite had surpassed itself “by absurdly forcing gender propaganda.” The statement said that in a new effort in line with “coarse political blackmail and outrageous European parliamentary decisions”, leftist MEPs were “trying to send MEPs back to school by introducing mandatory gender training”. Those not attending the trainings would be stigmatised and penalised, possibly by suspending their activities in the EP, the statement said.
“It is outrageous that the EP is busy with gender madness rather than solving problems such as migration, dwindling competitiveness and ending a devastating war,” the statement said.
The MEPs said the “European mainstream” was wary of right-wing parties gaining strength at the upcoming elections, and used unusual tools “to re-educate MEPs in its fear for its power”.
