DK sends blankets, sleeping bags to Turkiye, Syria quake survivors
The relief supplies were purchased from the party community’s donations, Zsolt Greczy, MP Lajos Olah and MEP Sandor Ronai told an online press conference.
Because the areas affected by the earthquake are still in need of aid, DK decided to open an account for donations from the party’s members and base which it could use to contribute to the international aid efforts, Greczy said.
Ronai, who is also DK’s shadow foreign minister, expressed his sympathies with the families of the victims and those who were injured in the disaster, and thanked the donors for their contributions.
Olah said DK was proud of its community which, he said, was best at demonstrating its strength when it was time to help those in need.
The supplies will be delivered to the crisis zones via the Turkish embassy in Budapest.
