Mayor: Budapest to have another 45 speed cameras installed
The municipality of Budapest, in cooperation with police, has started installing another 45 speed cameras in the city, Mayor Gergely Karacsony said on Facebook on Monday.
He noted that the installation of such cameras was not a municipal task, but added that increasing their number was instrumental in fighting serious traffic accidents.
Karacsony said that the city’s measures, including the introduction of new pedestrian crossings and separating bicycle paths from lanes were aimed at making traffic safer in the city. “The long term aim is to ensure that nobody dies in a traffic accident in Budapest,” he said.
