Sebastian Coe re-elected WA leader at Budapest congress
He has been the organisation’s head since 2015 and he was the only candidate at the congress held ahead of the World Athletics Championships starting on Saturday.
Coe told public television on Thursday that “the local organising committee [of the championships] is doing an excellent job”.
“This is one of the best local organising committees we have ever worked with,” he said. “They are very cooperative, hard-working and ambitious,” he added.
The Briton noted that he had visited President Katalin Novak, who convinced him that the World Championships was extremely important to her and she was a big fan of the event.
