Coach Serhiy Rebrov quits champion Ferencvaros
Serhiy Rebrov, the Ukrainian coach of Hungary's defending soccer champion Ferencvaros, has quit the club. The 46-year-old coach has resigned from his post, Ferencvaros said on its website on Friday.
“I would like to express thanks to the club and all of Ferencvaros’s fans for supporting me in my work. We have made all out achievements together. It was my great pleasure to work with such a widely popular club, one with great traditions,” the website cited Rebrov as saying.
Appointed to head coach in August 2018, Rebrov led the team to three champion’s titles, and the group stage of the Europa League in 2019-2020 and of the Champions’ League in 2020-2021.
According to press reports, Rebrov will be succeeded as head coach of Ferencvaros by Peter Stoeger, the former coach of Austria Wien.
