One star added

The Michelin restaurant guide awards ceremony took place in Budapest last week.

The top restaurants ‘Platán’ in Tata and ‘Stand’ in Budapest successfully defended their two Michelin stars. A further eight restaurants were awarded a Michelin star this year. The ‘42’ in Esztergom and the restaurants ‘Salt’, ‘Costes’, ‘Borkonyha’, ‘Babel’, ‘Rumour’ and ‘Essencia’ in the capital retained their Michelin stars, while the ‘Pajta’ in Őriszentpéter was added as a newcomer.

The Bib Gourmand recommendation for excellent value for money was awarded to Újváros Bistro (Szarvas), N28 Wine and Kitchen (Budapest), Goli (Budapest), Platán Bistro (Tata), Macok (Eger), Morzsa (Pécs), Casa Christa (Balatonszőlős), Sparhelt (Balatonfüred), Kistücsök (Balatonszemes) and Anyukám Mondta (Encs).
