“Bonfire Night” at Budapest Marriott Hotel on November 9
Charity party for children returns
The event is an “all you can eat and drink”-style party with proceeds in support of Hungarian children’s charities. This year will celebrate the 21st birthday of XpatLoop.com within the international community in Hungary.
The virtual bonfire and fireworks display film at the annual event is in keeping with the
British tradition of Bonfire Night, also known as Guy Fawkes Night, held each November 5 in
the UK to mark the anniversary of a 1605 plot to blow up the Parliament in London.
The party also promises live pop, soul and funky tunes in the welcome room by Fruzsina & Badman; eclectic grooves by “The Selectress” from Brooklyn, New York, DJ Mahogany; American roulette and blackjack for fun (not money) to win small gifts from Budapest’s Las Vegas Casino; expat covers band The Vibe who will play popular indie tunes; wine-tasting games by Bortodoor City; and DJ Woods with party hits.
Each guest will receive a welcome and farewell gift, namely a one-week pass worth HUF 20,000-plus to the Fitness & Health Club at the Budapest Marriott Hotel, which has a fully equipped gym, sauna, steam bath and jacuzzi, and a HUF 150,000 voucher for Dr. Rose Private Hospital redeemable for services of more than HUF 300,000.
A business card draw will be presented by stand-up comedian, actor and writer Dave Thompson, known for being Tinky Winky. Prizes will include items from Good Spirit Bar, Planet Sushi, Iguana, Trattoria Toscana and others.
Attendees must show a Hungarian Covid-19 Certificate of Immunity. There will be a welcome address by British Ambassador to Hungary Paul Fox. The main sponsors are FirstMed health clinic and the Dr. Rose Private Hospital. For tickets see https://tickets.funcode.hu/event/xpat-charity-gala-2021.
