Weather service: Tuesday average 8 degrees C hotter than usual
Tuesday's temperature was on average 8 degrees Celsius hotter than usual on this date, in some places even 10-11 degrees hotter, the weather service said.
HungaroMet said on Facebook on Wednesday that around 35 degrees was measured in several places in southern Hungary in the morning hours of Tuesday. The hottest temperature recorded on Tuesday was 40.7 degrees in Kelebia, which was a record high.
At night the temperature did not drop below 27 degrees in the city of Pecs. Only in north-eastern Hungary was the morning temperature cooler.
