Ukrainian children leave for holiday in Hungary
The first group of Ukrainian children and parents accompanying them left Uzhhorod (Ungvar) on Monday for Miskolc, in northern Hungary, to enjoy a holiday offered by the Hungarian government, MTI's local correspondent reported.
The 63 children and 34 adults will spend two weeks in Hungary, as the first group of the programme aimed at facilitating holidays for a total 400 Ukrainian children.
Jozsef Bacskai, Hungary’s consul general in Uzhhorod, said the head of public administration in Transcarpathia had asked for the Hungarian government’s help in organising holidays for Ukrainian children.
Bacskai noted that in 2022, over 7,000 Ukrainian children had been on vacation in Hungary.
