Tourism agency: Chinese tourists visiting Hungary again
The first official group of Chinese tourists since the outbreak of the pandemic arrived in Budapest at Ferenc Liszt International Airport on a direct Air China flight from Chongqing, Zsofia Jakab, the agency’s deputy director general for marketing and communications, said in a statement.
A small group of 17 people arrived in Budapest, and further groups are expected, with 36,000 Chinese tourists expected this year, based on pre-bookings, Jakab said.
Chinese tourist groups are now spending 8-10 days in Hungary as against 2-3 days earlier. As well as Budapest, they are likely to visit Debrecen, the Hevíz spa resort and areas around Lake Balaton, she noted.
The agency is launching a Chinese roadshow in mid-April, Jakab added.
