Szijjarto: Government extends aid to export companies

The government has decided to extend its programme aimed at helping Hungarian export companies, providing access to subsidised EXIM Bank loans until the end of this year, the foreign minister and trade said.

Peter Szijjarto said on Facebook that financial stability was crucial for export companies in light of uncertainties caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

So far, over 1,000 Hungarian ventures have used the EXIM Bank programme, launched last spring, taking out loans worth a combined 320 billion forints (EUR 890m), Szijjarto said.

Szijjarto said that “the formula is simple: the more export Hungarian companies can generate the more revenues they will have and the more money will get back to Hungarian people in the form of wage hikes and developments”.
