Pope Frances appoints Kornel Fabry as auxiliary bishop of Esztergom-Budapest archdiocese

Pope Frances on Tuesday appointed Kornel Fabry, of the clergy of the diocese of Kaposvar, as auxiliary bishop of the metropolitan archdiocese of Esztergom-Budapest, assigning him the titular see of Guardialfiera, the Hungarian Catholic Bishops' Conference (HCBC) said.

Fabry was until now director of the Pastoral Institute of the Hungarian Episcopal Conference, the statement added.

Fabry was born in 1972 in Budapest, carried out his philosophical and theological studies at the Central Seminary of Budapest, was ordained a priest in 2000 and incardinated in the diocese of Kaposvar. He is a member of the Emmanuel Community.
