Police gets new e-cars from BMW
Ten BMW iX3 electric cars have been added to the police fleet, according to the National Police Headquarters (ORFK).
Geographical and tourist aspects were taken into account when allocating the vehicles. Budapest received two, the police training centre, Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok, Somogy, Fejér, Zala, Pest, Veszprém and Hajdú-Bihar counties each received a BMW e-car.
The Ministry of Energy, with the support of the state mobility agency HUMDA Zrt., provided the funds for the purchase of the vehicles, thus contributing to the reduction of pollutant emissions from the police fleet.
The CEO of BMW Group Magyarország, Zoltán Gombos, recalled that the BMW brand has been present in the life of the police for two decades; more than 200 police motorbikes have already been put into service there.
