Police arrest Ukrainian man in central Budapest on suspicion of murder

Police have taken a Ukrainian man into custody on suspicion of murdering a 49-year-old man in central Budapest, according to a report on the website on Friday.

The 30-year-old suspect identified by police as Ferenc B has been charged with robbing the victim of petty cash in Klauzal Square, in the 7th district, before beating him to death shortly before 1am on Thursday.

During questioning, police also established that a companion of the Ukrainian suspect had observed his act before drinking wine, bought using the stolen money, with him. Criminal proceedings have been launched against the 46-year-old man for failing to intervene, the statement said.
