Parbeszed proposes to double family allowance
The opposition Parbeszed has submitted an amendment proposal to parliament to promote the interests of women, children and families, the party's co-leader said on Wednesday.
Bence Tordai told a press conference that Parbeszed proposes doubling the family allowance and indexing its transfer.
Labour protection for young mothers must be restored in the relevant law and women must be enabled to return to the labour market as easily as possible, he said. He cited the introduction of the “gyed” child care fee for fathers and developing institutions that cater for young children.
Parbeszed proposes to introduce stricter regulations in the criminal code to fight violence against women, he said.
The proposal also includes removing “discriminative content” in public education and introducing “menstrual leave”, Tordai said.
