Parbeszed-Greens to turn to EC over sovereignty protection law
The opposition Parbeszed-Greens are turning to the European Commission over the sovereignty protection law adopted by parliament on Tuesday.
Benedek Javor, the party’s top candidate in next year’s European parliamentary elections, told a press conference that the legislation, which the governing parties voted into law, ran afoul of the European Union’s fundamental principles, the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights, and the principle of free movement of capital, persons and services.
The party is calling on the EC to review the legislation in light of the EU’s basic principles, and the democratic and political freedom rights the EU is obligated to guarantee for all its citizens, Javor said.
