Origo: Three-day government meeting planned in Sopron next week

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has convened a three-day cabinet meeting to be held in Sopron, in western Hungary, next week, online news portal Origo said on Friday.

The website cited Orbán’s press chief Bertalan Havasi saying that the meeting to be held in the first part of next week will not include a press conference but the decisions made there will be announced at a regular press conference by head of the Prime Minister’s Office Gergely Gulyas on Thursday.

The government meeting is scheduled to cover the war in Ukraine and its international aspects, and Hungary’s dedication to peace and a ceasefire. Additional highlights will include the effects of the war and Brussels’ sanctions on the economy, Hungary’s energy strategy, and the fight against inflation, Origo said. The strategic meeting will discuss the rural development strategy, and perspectives of science in Hungary, it added.

Havasi told the website that Orbán will attend a European Union summit in Brussels next Thursday and Friday.
