Orbán expresses condolences after Nice church attack
Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has sent a letter of condolences to French President Emmanuel Macron after a suspected terrorist attack left three people dead at a church in Nice on Thursday, the PM's press chief said.
Orbán expressed his sympathies to the people of France, wishing strength to the families of the victims, Bertalan Havasi said.
The prime minister said he was shocked to hear of the attack. “The attacks witnessed today and in recent weeks have made it clear that our shared European culture, way of life and values are caught in the crossfire of extremist terrorism,” he wrote.
Orbán assured Macron of Hungary’s support in France’s time of need.
“We are prepared to join our forces in defence of traditional European values and traditional European way of life,” the prime minister wrote.
