OMV to launch ultra-fast charging stations for electric cars
Ján Hrivnák, Managing Director of OMV Hungária Kft, emphasised that only charging stations that enable lightning-fast charging will be installed. Drivers can charge their car batteries to 80% in just 20-30 minutes. OMV has also developed its own app for using the charging stations. The current chargers have a capacity of at least 100 kW, and charging capacities of up to 200 kW should be available at several locations by the end of the year.
According to CEF, the costs for the construction of an ultra-fast charging station amount to around 150 million forints (approx. 365,000 euros). In the 2023 financial year, OMV Hungária Kft. generated net sales of 664.4 billion forints and closed the year with a profit of 19.9 billion forints.
The new charging stations make it possible to quickly charge e-cars every 100 km along the main routes. This marks a milestone in the spread of electromobility in Hungary.
