OMSZ: September saw 40-50 hours more sunshine than average

Last month, the warmest September ever recorded in Hungary, saw 40-50 hours more sunshine than the average in certain places in Hungary, the National Meteorology Service (OMSZ) said on Wednesday.

Szombathely, in southwest Hungary, had 254 hours of sunshine, 57 hours more than average, the report said.

The sunniest was Paks, in southern Hungary, where the number of clear hours exceeded the average by 52 hours, it said.

Gyor and Nyiregyhaza had 41 hours of sunshine above the average, Bekescsaba and Debrecen 46 hours each, Pecs 47 hours and Nagykanizsa 48 hours above average, it said.
