Novak: Government scheme eases mortgages of 30,000 families
A government programme aiming to help families with new babies has so far eased the mortgage burden of some 30,000 families, the minister in charge of family affairs said on Facebook on Monday.
Katalin Novak said in a video that under the scheme, the mortgages of families are reduced by one million forints (EUR 2,800) when they have their second child, by four million when they have three children, and again by one million forints after each child after the third.
The government seeks to ensure that children are raised in safe households and under improved conditions, Novak said, adding she hoped that the number of participants in the scheme would grow further.
