New higher education model capable of adapting better than traditional system
Universities operating under Hungary's new higher education model based on private foundations can "adapt to new situations much faster" than universities in the traditional system, Finance Minister Mihaly Varga said on Tuesday.
Varga attended a ceremony in Szekesfehervar, in western Hungary, in which Budapest’s Obuda and Corvinus universities signed a memorandum of understanding concerning the operations of Corvinus’s local campuses. The two universities will run courses jointly at two Corvinus campuses in Szekesfehervar under Obuda University’s management.
This kind of cooperation would have taken must longer to effect under the old system, the minister said.
The new Corvinus and Obuda University campuses will offer courses in engineering, economics and finance.
