Nemeth: Egypt crucial for Europe’s security
Egypt is a crucial element of Europe's security, playing an extremely important role in Europe's fight against illegal migration and in maintaining stability in the Middle East, the head of parliament's foreign affairs committee said on Thursday.
Zsolt Nemeth of ruling Fidesz told a joint press conference with Karim Abdel Karim Darwish, chairman of the foreign relations committee in the Egyptian parliament, that Egypt and Hungary had similar positions concerning the Russia-Ukraine war and were in agreement that ceasefire and peace talks were needed as soon as possible.
He thanked Karim Darwish for Egypt’s contribution to the process of freeing Israeli hostages.
Karim Darwish said “talks are the only way” for resolving conflicts and Egypt would make every effort for the success of freeing Israeli hostages.
