MTVA, China’s Hunan Broadcasting System sign cooperation pact

The chief executives of Hungary's Media Service Support and Asset Management Fund (MTVA) and China's Hunan Broadcasting System have signed a cooperation agreement in Budapest, MTVA's press and marketing office said on Thursday.

The pact was signed by Daniel Papp for MTVA, Hungary’s largest media company operating European standard cutting-edge technologies and Zhang Huali for Hunan TV which has China’s second largest viewership, the office said in a statement.

The two partners’ cooperation is aimed at promoting the exchange of content and cultural programmes and implementing joint television projects.

Under the agreement, the two partners will prepare entertainment programmes, dramas and documentaries in coproduction and will cooperate in programme broadcasting.

It is also for facilitating direct cooperation and experience exchange between Hungarian and Chinese artists, creative staff, producers and content providers in the long term.

The agreement is also aimed at strengthening cultural and diplomatic ties between Hungary and China, the statement said.
