MOL Bubi bikeshare scheme averages over 10,500 rides per day

People in Budapest used the MOL Bubi bikeshare scheme over 10,500 times per day in January-July, the Budapest Transport Centre (BKK), which operates the system with the support of Hungarian oil and gas company MOL, said on Friday.

The MOL Bubi fleet boasts 2,460 bicycles and 211 docking stations.

A recent survey shows that 57 percent of MOL Bubi riders used the bicycles to commute to and from work, while 49 percent used them to do the shopping and 40 percent to go out for entertainment.

Bubi 3.0 is set to launch in 2026 with a doubled fleet size and the addition of e-bikes.
