Menczer to take over as Fidesz-Christ Dem communications chief
Tamas Menczer is stepping down from his post as state secretary for bilateral relations and will take up the role of head of communications of the ruling Fidesz-Christian Democrats, replacing Istvan Hollik.
Menczer wrote on Facebook on Wednesday that he would carry on representing the interests of his electoral district and called it a great honour to accept the prime minister’s invitation to work as communications chief of “the strongest and most successful political community in Europe”. He thanked his predecessor for his work.
Referring to Ferenc Gyurcsany, the former Socialist prime minister who heads the opposition Democratic Coalition, he said: “the old left (Mr Gyurcsany et al) and the new left (traitors, political adventurers) can count on him in the future.”
He added: “With heads held high … we will fight the battle, and, thanks to the strength of our community, we will win!”
