Menczer: Fidesz to adopt election manifesto on April 19

Ruling Fidesz will adopt an "election manifesto" in preparation for the upcoming EP election, at an event held at the Millenaris Park on April 19, Tamas Menczer, the party's communications director, said on Friday.

The event will be addressed by Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, as well as Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto, and MEP Tamas Deutsch, who is heading Fidesz’s EP election list, Menczer added.

The manifesto will outline Fidesz’s priorities in connection with the June 9 EP election, which he said were of “extreme importance” with regard to the war in Ukraine and “preparations for war in the world . the threat of a third world war has never been as high as these days”.

Voters “must choose between war and peace . we say no to war and seek to preserve Hungary’s peace and security, but pro-war pressure is on the increase,” Menczer said, adding that “peace in our homeland is only possible through support from the Hungarian people”.

“We will continue to oppose migration and the LGBTQ propaganda,” Menczer said on Facebook.
