Magyar meets von der Leyen

The chairman of the Tisza party completed a major diplomatic operation before the weekend.

Péter Magyar, who is a Member of the European Parliament, first met the President of the Parliament, Roberta Metsola, and then the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen.

The Tisza party then announced via social media that as soon as the Orbán government implements the EU’s anti-corruption measures and recognises that the EU funds are ‘not intended for the oligarchs of the Orbán family’, the Commission will begin the transfer of 8,000 billion forints (around 20 billion euros). The Tisza party is in favour of Hungary receiving these funds to strengthen its SMEs, healthcare, transport, energy and education sectors.
