LMP publishes green manifesto
Opposition LMP has published its green manifesto, promising to take the lead on European Union legislation aimed at slowing climate change, ensure food safety, as well as protect green areas, woods and waterways, the party's co-leader, Erzsebet Schmuck, said on Friday.
Schmuck told an online press conference that LMP’s list would be “the only green list” at the EP elections on June 9, and slammed the opposition Parbeszed-Greens, saying that in the past decade Parbeszed had not shown the courage to run on its own, “and has undertaken to become the green branch of [leftist Democratic Coalition] DK”.
Schmuck added that this was ironic given that Parbeszed politician Bence Tordai had recently campaigned against LMP, himself claiming that LMP was the green wing of the DK. “You can troll, you can lie, but all becomes clear with time,” Schmuck said.
