LMP opposes some programmes on national holiday

The festive events scheduled to mark the founding of the Hungarian state suggest “as if there were no tomorrow”, co-leader Mate Kanasz-Nagy told a press conference, calling the programmes Prime Minister Viktor Orban’s “farewell party”.

Kamasz-Nagy said in a year Hungary would have a new government which keeps social justice in mind, eliminates child poverty, raises the wages of social workers, increases the family allowance, and gives young people easier access to housing.

The new government, he said, will take action to slow climate change, focus on renewable energy, stop the Paks II nuclear power plant project, close the Matra power plant, and establish solar plants and wind farms.

Kanasz-Nagy said LMP would like to see a state which gives no longer priority to profit and economic growth but focuses on improving the quality of life.
