Karacsony: Public e-bikes planned from 2026
Plans are for the public in Budapest to be able to rent e-bikes from 2026 as part of the Bubi system, with the current fleet doubling and the number of stations also increasing, Gergely Karacsony, the city's mayor, said on Tuesday.
At the press conference held at the new MOL Bubi station on the Kopaszi dam, Karacsony said the Bubi 3.0 public bicycle rental system starting in January 2026 would have 4,500 bicycles available at more rental points around the city.
