Justice minister: Child protection act under attack on new front
“Now it was the turn of Hungary, among others. In this highly politicised process, each state can give recommendations to the country under examination,” Varga said.
“In addition to the many positive responses, Hungary has received several recommendations openly attacking the Child Protection Act adopted this summer,” she said.
She added that they would repeal the Child Protection Act on the grounds that it “prohibits the promotion of LGBTQ propaganda among minors”.
“Hungary is committed to protecting children. We believe that the right to sex education of children belongs exclusively to parents. With the adoption of the Child Protection Act, we have stopped all sexual propaganda at the fences of schools and kindergartens,” she said.
“The Hungarian government rejects the ideologically biased recommendations of the Human Rights Council. We will protect the rights of parents. Leave our children alone!” she added.
