Jozsef Steinbach elected president of Reformed Church Synod

Jozsef Steinbach, bishop of the Transdanubian Reformed Church District, has been elected president of the Synod of the Reformed Church in Hungary, the website reformatus.hu reported on Wednesday.

The participants of the meeting held behind closed doors issued a resolution acknowledging that reformed bishop Zoltan Balog had resigned from the post and expressed appreciation of his services for the church, the website said.

The Synod then unanimously elected Steinbach.

Daniel Pasztor, bishop of the Cistibiscan Reformed Church District, who has been acting president since Balog’s resignation, will remain the vice-president of the Synod.
