Jobbik, Smallholders sign cooperation pact
The Jobbik-Conservatives and the Independent Smallholders Party (FKgP) signed a cooperation pact on Friday.
Jobbik leader Marton Gyongyosi said the post-communist period had brought about “destruction and impoverishment of the countryside” and Hungary could not exist properly “without a livable countryside”.
Both political forces object to land purchases by foreign multinationals and want small Hungarian businesses to profit from Hungarian land instead, he said.
FKgP leader Karoly Balogh said the pact was “a milestone” in his party’s development.
The two parties plan a joint tour of the country and to develop a joint programme.
