Interior ministry: Ukrainian children’s integration in Hungarian public education programme concluded
The interior ministry has supported the integration of over 6,000 refugee children from Ukraine in Hungarian public education under a scheme that has been concluded, the ministry said in a statement on Wednesday.
The scheme has used 3.6 billion forints (EUR 9.6m) worth of European Union non-refundable support in framework of the Szechenyi 2020 programme and covered 1,500 nurseries and primary schools, it said.
It supported the integration and education of children aged under 18 and holding an Ukrainian citizenship in a public institution ran by the state, a local government or a minority self-government, the statement said.
