Hungary in talks with producers of every potential vaccine

Hungary is in talks with every producer developing a potential coronavirus vaccine and has prospects to have various types available in the first quarter of 2021, Cecilia Muller, the chief medical officer, said on Monday.

A vaccine will be a “great potential new instrument for controlling the epidemic”, she told a regular online press conference.

She noted the website vakcinainfo.gov.hu the government will soon launch for voluntary registration for people wishing to be inoculated.

Hungarian hospitals continue to cope with the current load, with a total of 7,932 Covid-19 patients needing therapy, she said, giving reassurance that all conditions were in place to provide appropriate care to all of them.
