House speaker sends condolences to Knesset speaker over Lag B’Omer stampede

Parliamentary Speaker Laszlo Kover has sent his condolences to Yariv Levin, the Speaker of the Israeli Knesset, over the stampede that claimed over 45 lives at a religious gathering at Mount Meron, parliament's press office said on Friday.

In his telegram, Kover said he was shocked and deeply saddened to learn about the tragic event that occurred at a mass gathering celebrating the Lag B’Omer holiday on Thursday evening.

He expressed his solidarity with the families of the victims and their loved ones and wished them much strength and perseverance. The Hungarian house speaker wished a speedy recovery to those injured.

“Please accept my heartfelt condolences over this tragic event,” Kover said.
