Heat alert issued from Saturday

A third-degree heat alert will be in effect in Hungary from early Saturday until Wednesday midnight, the national health and disaster management authorities have said.

Third-degree heat alerts are issued when the median temperature reaches or exceeds 27 degrees Celsius three days in a row.

The heat alert comes with advice to drink plenty, avoid the sun between 11am and 3pm and to stay in the shade.

Those who work or spend time outdoors are advised to wear loose-fitting clothing and use skin protection.
