Government approves national hydrogen strategy
The government has approved the National Hydrogen Strategy, state secretary for circular economy, energy and climate policy Attila Steiner said on his social media page on Wednesday.
Steiner called the approval of the strategy a “big step in the direction of an innovative, sustainable and green economy”.
He added that hydrogen technology could help Hungary achieve carbon neutrality by 2050 while giving the economy a boost at the same time.
Steiner noted that he had discussed the economic significance of hydrogen technology and possible frameworks for cooperation with his counterparts from the Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia at a meeting on Wednesday.
Cooperation in the area will be a priority issue when Hungary takes over the revolving presidency of the Visegrad Group from July 1, he added.
