Fidesz MEP initiates child protection law enforcement

Balazs Hidveghi, an MEP of ruling Fidesz, has sent a written complaint to the government commissioner of Pest county over a book which he claimed violated Hungary's child protection law "with its openly homosexual content".

In his letter posted on Facebook, the MEP noted that he had spotted Alice Oseman’s title Heartstopper on display among children’s books in a shop at the Budapest international airport.

Hidveghi noted that putting on sale such a book violated provisions of the law and asked Botond Sara to initiate the enforcement of child protection measures at relevant authorities.
