Fidesz leads poll with 10 percent
The Fidesz-Christian Democrats have maintained their support, with 45 percent of decided voters favouring the ruling alliance, while the opposition Tisza Party has increased its backing to 35 percent since the European parliamentary elections held in June, the Nezopont Institute said on Thursday.
Support of the leftist Democratic Coalition (DK) has fallen to 6 percent, of radical Our Homeland to 5 percent and of Momentum to 3 percent in the past three months, according to Nezopont’s latest poll.
If general elections were held now, Fidesz would come out as the clear winner, the pollster said. Among all voting age adults, Fidesz has about 2.5 million active voters.
The Tisza Party has close to 2 million active voters and some 170,000 reserve supporters, Nezopont said.
Nezopont said that if the elections were held this Sunday, only Fidesz-KDNP, the Tisza Party, DK and Our Homeland would clear the 5-percent threshold to form a four-party parliament.
