Election 2024 – Fidesz: High turnout ‘sign people grasp what’s at stake’

High turnout in Sunday's European parliamentary and local elections shows that "Hungarians grasp what is at stake", the communications director of the ruling Fidesz-Christian Democrat alliance, Tamas Menczer, told a press conference at Fidesz's ballot-watch on Sunday.

Menczer thanked everyone who cast a ballot today, especially “those voting for the pro-peace prime minister and political community, Fidesz-KDNP”.

He said today’s was the “highest turnout ever for an EP or municipal election”, showing that people had understood what was at stake, “whether we want war or peace”.

Lorinc Nacsa, the Christian Democrat parliamentary group leader, thanked some 50,000 activists “who did a lot to spread the voice of peace to everyone in the past few weeks”.
