Easter celebrations to be led by leaders of historic churches

Leaders of the Catholic, Reformed and Lutheran churches will celebrate Easter in Esztergom, Budapest and Sajovelezd, respectively.

Cardinal Peter Erdo, the head of the Hungarian Catholic Church, will lead the vigil on Saturday evening in St Stephen’s Basilica in Budapest.

On Sunday, Erdo will celebrate mass at the Esztergom Basilica, while Reformed Church Bishop Daniel Pasztor will hold a service in Sajovelezd, in north-east Hungary, and Tamas Fabiny, the head of the Lutheran church, will hold a service in the Buda Castle.
