DK: Government has lost control over handling of crisis
“Denying the crisis won’t stop either the epidemic or the crisis,” DK spokesman Balazs Barkoczi told an online press conference in response to the prime minister’s regular Friday radio interview. He said the government had failed to adequately prepare the health-care sector for dealing with the epidemic, arguing that “ten years of destruction can’t be fixed over the span of a few months”.
Barkoczi also slammed the prime minister’s management of the economic crisis, saying that “even the most conservative estimates” indicated that some 200,000 people have lost their jobs in the recent period.
Commenting on Orbán’s visit to the Koranyi Pulmonary Hospital, Barkoczi said the prime minister had been correctly told that it was not ventilators that the health-care sector was short on, but rather the doctors that are qualified to operate them.
