DK calls on govt to pay for PCR tests required for travels by recipients of Eastern jabs
Zoltan Varga, spokesman of DK’s parliamentary group, noted that his party had warned the government repeatedly of the difficulties recipients of the Chinese and Russia vaccines would face because most European countries only accept vaccines approved by the European Medicines Agency.
Varga said the cabinet should bear the extra costs of tests and apologise for having misled the public that those inoculated with Eastern vaccines would be allowed to travel unimpeded.
In response, ruling Fidesz accused the “anti-vaxxer left wing” of fabricating and disseminating fake news.
In reality, Hungarians are allowed to enter several countries, including Croatia, Turkey and the Czech Republic without having to go into quarantine or present a test result, irrespective of the vaccine they have been inoculated with, Fidesz said in a statement.
