Discounts for residents in Budapest baths
All Budapest residents may soon be able to use the thermal baths at a reduced price.
The chairman of the Podmaniczky Movement, Dávid Vitézy, has proposed important changes in his 101-point programme on the situation of the capital’s baths. His aim is to make the historic baths, which are currently overrun mainly by tourists, more accessible to locals again.
The new proposals include the digitalisation of the Zsigmondy card, the introduction of online bookings, longer opening hours and discounts on the entrance fee for residents of the capital. The aim is to turn Budapest’s baths back into places where locals can relax and at the same time alleviate the effects of mass tourism. There are currently hardly any locals to be found in many of Budapest’s popular baths.
